Anthropometric breast measurement and relationship between body compozition parameters at the AGE of 18-24 female students

Abstract (EN)

The mammary glands has important functional properties both physically and health. Mammary glands which settled to chest right and left sides are one of the female reproductive organs(Lui,2009). Our research is made between 18-24 years old young, unmarried, healthy who had no operatıon Adnan Menderes University student with 93 female volunteer. We aimed to made anthropometric measurements of the breast, for the sake of this measurement to find breast volume and compare these measurements between body compozition parameters. The average age of volunteers was 20 and length 164,00(159,00-168,00) cm, weight 55,10(49,60-60,65) kg. We used dijital caliper and baseline circumference for measuring anthropometric parameters. Additionally we used Bia 720's body compozition analyzer device for calculate Body Mass İndex(BMİ), Skeletal Muscle Mass(SMM), Body Fat Mass(BFM), Percent Body Fat(PBF), Waist Hip Ratio(WHR), Body Mineral Content(BMC),Bazal Metabolic Rate(BMR) parameters. Additionally we recorded breast size differences, brest ptosis and areola mammae colour changes. In summary right breast volume calculated average(203,82±46,70)cc and left breast volume(207,62±47,91)cc. Acording to istatistical calculatings any significant difference was found between right and left breast volume(p>0,05). BMİ was found 20,70(18,80-23,45)kg/m2, WHR% parameter 0,78(0,76-0,80). The average BFM(15,00±6,56)kg and SMM(22,91±3,91)kg. There was moderately positif increasing correlation level between breast volume and Weight, BMİ, BCM, SMM, WHR, BFM parameters(r=0,29-0,4). We observed pozitif low level correlation between BMC, BFM, PBF parameters and breast volume (r=0,2-0,28). We observed highly level, positif correlation between breast volume and anthropometric breast measurements(MP, SNL, NIL, RLA) (r=0,4-0,8) also moderately positif increasing level correlation was found with MND, HL, WL parameters(r=0,29-0,4). Anthropometric measurements are made to determine the breast shape and size will allow to determine the ideal breast size in aesthetic surgery. Our data base will allow to obtain appropriate implant size in plastic surgery. It will be useful for determining bra cub in textile industry to create garment pattern, in technology to create three dimentional model design.
