Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between perfectionism, self-critical rumination and negative automatic thoughts and inferiority feelings in adults. In this direction, data were collected from a total of 355 participants, 243 women and 112 men. In the study, the Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale, Self Critical Rumination Scale, Automatic Thoughts Scale, and Sense of Inferiority Feeling Scale were used as data collection tools along with the demographic information form. The relationship between inferiority feeling, perfectionism, self-critical rumination and automatic thoughts was examined by Pearson Correlation Analysis. Multiple Linear Regression models were designed to determine the predictors of inferiority feeling in the whole sample and in various demographic variable groups. As a result of the analysis, it was seen that self-critical rumination, socially prescribed perfectionism, maladjustment/desire for change and negative feelings/thoughts towards oneself were effective on inferiority feeling in adults and these results differed in various demographic variable groups. The findings were interpreted within the scope of the relevant literature.
