Özet (EN)

The basic criteria of a historian when conducting scientific research in regions that witnessed historical events and facts are documents. Documents are the historian's compass. It is thought that in the light of these documents, the historian makes inferences by establishing a cause-effect relationship between events and allows people to look to the future with more confidence. With the Besni Sharia Registry No. 187, which has been transcribed and evaluated, it is possible to access important information about the economic, cultural and demographic life of the region. It is seen that non-Muslim and Muslim people acted as representatives and witnesses to each other, which is reflected in the court records kept in the Sharia courts of the Ottoman Empire. In addition, it is reflected in the court records that non-Muslims established their own unique settlements such as the Armenian Neighborhood and the Christian Neighborhood. Again, it is seen that the tax farming system implemented by the Ottoman Empire to meet its cash needs was applied in 81 villages in the Besni Şer'iyye Registry No. 187. In addition, it is inferred from the complaints reflected in the court records that this system was used for the interests of tax farmers. In addition, in the Sharia registry, tax farming system, sub-farmers, payment facilities provided by the state to tax farmers, village and neighborhood names, tax systems and irregularities, examples of the taxation system applied by the Ottoman Empire to the local people on the campaign route and the ability of people appointed as civil servants to continue their duties are examined. We see the guarantors they put forward for this.
