Abstract (EN)

SUMMARY Minority and Foreigners İn Turkish Novel Between 1986-1914 KEYWORDS: Novel, Persons, Foreigners, Minorities, Typs This study named as "Minority and Foreigners İn Turkish Novel Between 1986-1914" aims to observe foreigners and minorities in 48 Turkish novels published that dates. Foreign characters like European Nations, Non-muslims living in the border of Empire. Araps and Persians living out of Anatolian geograpy have been surveyed in this work. Such cominities that are not etnically Turk but unite with Turkish society in Balkans and Caucasia are not accepted. Our study is composing of breface, two main parts after introduction, conclusion and bibliography. İn introductory the meanin g of foreigner and the concept of the being foreigner have been mentioned. İn relation to this, the connetion between literature and society and literature and religion have been explained. İn here, I try to show how "foreigner" had a place in Turkish literature until 1914 moving from the idea of Turkish literature is whole. The first part is named as "Novels Published Between 1986-1914 and Have Foreign Workforce İn." İn order to look at the subject as a whole and understand the proceeing of the subject, the novels have been observed one by one. İn the second part, named as "The observation of Foreign Workforce İn Novels as Whole" our purpose is to examine the foreigners and minorities whose different manifestations that we have seen in the first part in general and to explain the appearance of foreigner in the construction of the novel in detail. İn contunuation of the second part, the names of foreigners and minorities, the reason of their coming to Turkey and their occupatinal and social situations have been observed. İn this way, the positions of way, the positions of foreigners in society in Turkey and the comparison of notable foreigners that brought to light with each other have been realized. Our novelist have thought of foreigners in different places and different Works. We examined this subject in the second part of the study which is named as "The Environment The Foreigners Have Lived And The Places They Have Worked İn" At the same part, the living style of foreigners in Turkish society and the interests of Turks into this; the shape of the relationship betwean Turks and foreigners have been observed. İn Here the clear characteristics of Turks in Social Life Of that period anda the position of existing characters against dominant type have been put forward. İn the term novel, foreigners, Turks and their thoughts about each other or their volves were also mentioned. İn addition to his it was tried to work out the thoughts of foreigners about the others and what they thought about İstanbul. The last topic mentioned was Turkish novelist attidudes towards foreigners and their works. İn the conclusion part of our work a general evaluation was made about all these topics. The sources of information in the research study are given under the headings of used novels and the other bibliography. Foreigners and minorities are virtually live in every societies changeable rates and.they effect social change and developments of their societes. xx
