The schools that educated in a foreign language in the Ottoman Empire on May 19, 1919 and their objectives

This study aims to determine the objectives of the schools that educated in a foreign language in the Ottoman Empire on May 19, 1919. It also investigates the historical development of those schools and their influences on Turkish society.It is of great importance to understand the real objectives of those schools specified above and their influences on our society since that specified date because such schools are still educating as a part of our national education and public administration in modern Turkey.This study benefits from a historical and descriptive research method that explains the importance of the subject by identifying reason and result relationships. The research, first of all, provides some basic imformation about the general situation of the Ottoman Empire on May 19, 1919 and the missionary activities within its borders; then it deals with the objectives of Turkish society and, finally, the study ends with a summary of findings, suggestions, and conclusions.Key words: May 19, 1919, The Otoman Empire, Missionary Activities, Foreign Schools, The Objectives of Foreign Schools
