Abstract (EN)

In the thesis whose subject is The 19th Century Diwan Poetry Poetics, it was aimed to shed light on the general poetics of the century based on poetries of eight poets lived in 19th century. Accordingly the literature review was made primarily on the meaning of the term poetics; its course in Eastern and Western literature and then the political, social, cultural and literary situation of 19th century; the sources reached were examined. After the examination of sources Enderunlu Vâsıf, Keçecizâde İzzet Molla, Müştâk Baba, Leylâ Hanım, Leskofçalı Gâlib, Osmân Nevres and Yenişehirli Avnî's diwan and Hersekli Ârif Hikmet's Âsâr-ı Hikmet were determined as works which will help to reveal 19th century diwan poetry poetics. Subsequently the works with diwan poetry and poetics content were examined. The works determined to shed light on 19th century diwan poetry poetics were scanned to reach to evaluations about poetry and poet with the help of the template prepared by taking example the classification made by M. Orhan Okay relating to term poetics and works with diwan poetry and poetics content. New titles were added to template consisting of various titles during the examination of works and based on works thus the template specific to the thesis was obtained. The couplets and quatrains containing the evaluations about poetry and poet reached in consequence of the examination of determined works were classified around various titles. Based on couplets and quatrains reached 19th century diwan poetry poetics were tried to be revealed.
