Social reality tendencies in pictorial art and Turkish painting after the 19th century

An artist, who is the member of the society and who is the supporter of the tendency of social reality, deals with the events and culture that exist in community life; and characteristics of the environment in which they live.In 19th century, the changes occurred in the social structure as a result of the industrial revolution and the movement of democracy in Europe effected the art understanding of the countries; and consequently pictorial art has been effected from these changes. Social revolution actions which especially occur in France, Mexico, Germany and Russia have become true in the communities as a time period which innovations start in terms of cultural, political, education, religion, social structure and art. These changes have brought with them artistic changes and social topical studies have been started to perform.Along with the proclamation of the republic, the change which occurred in Turkish social structure has had influence upon the art and pictorial art has also been affected from this change. Artists who have been supported by the government beginning from republic either have tried to endear people pictorial art or performed studies which reflect social lifestyle.Social Reality has completed various phases in parallel with the social and artistic progresses and undergone certain changes from the 1940s until today in Turkey.
