Abstract (EN)

The decrease in the effect of scholastic thoughts on society along with the French Revolution helped individual to express freely what he/ she thought, art and science became liberated. Rapid changes in political, social, cultural structures of the society in Europe in 18th and 19th centuries directly affected the ways of expression of artists and artistic practices. This process starting through the French Revolution laid the foundations of modern society by being followed by Industrial Revolution and along with these; it triggered the occurrence of many artistic movements which can be accepted as the pioneers of each other. In the last quarter of the 20th century, digital tools were developed in the light of technological developments and they were integrated into artistic practices. These new trends have caused painterly tools and spheres to chance, the tools, as well as the surface of practice, which are used by the artists entered into the process of digitalization. As a part of this research, digitalization process of the art of painting was analyzed starting from the French Revolution, as a part of 21st century post-digital social structure and personal practices were presented under three main headings in accordance with the context of the research.
