Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of this thesis is to reveal the population of Harput central district and villages connected to her according to the census of 1834 that covered whole Ottoman land. The importance for district's social history of subject was the main reason of our choice. We transcripted Ottoman Archive records and build our assesments on them. Our text contains six chapters including introduction. At introduction we tried to describe Ottoman Tahrir tradition which can be considered as population census. At Chapter One we mentioned adminitrative structure of Harput district villages. And at Chapter Two population of Harput central district is given. At Chapter Three, information was given about individuals and names, nicknames used Harput central district. The identificiation of people who lived in Harput district was given at Chapter Four. At the next chapter, the population movements in the Harput Central distric was mentioned. At the conclusion of the obtained results are evaluated.
