Özet (EN)
In this study, the boarding schools in the Ottoman Empire in the period between 1908-1913 were tried to be described. The struggles of renovation in the education field in the Ottoman Empire has started with ?Tanzimat Dönemi? and these strugles have been tried to be supervised with ?1869 Maarif-i Umumiye Nizamnamesi?. Particularly, during the II. Constitutional Government it was understood that the fall down of the Empire could only be prevented by the means of education and as a result of this some supervising laws has been prepared in the education field eventhough they were?nt used. Durig this period, the instutition that some foreign countries and some non-moslem minorities have used to destroy the Empire have been the boarding schools. So, foreigners, and minorities struggled to impose their ideologies especially inthe provinces of Anatolia by establishing the boarding schools. In this research, the boarding schools established in the Otoman Empire between 1908-1913 and their features will be presented. The study starts with the presentation of the laws and regulations permitting both Muslims and non-müslims to establish both private and boarding schools since ?Tanzimat Dönemi? and ?Islahat and Meşrutiyet Dönemleri?. (so on.)With the literature research, information about the laws regulating the establishment of the schools existing in II. Meşrutiyet Dönemi, the addings and amittings from these laws, Tanzimat, Islahat and Meşrutiyet periods? regulations have been given. The general aim of the research is that the laws leading the establisment of boarding schools between 1908-1913 stem from the period before Tanzimat Dönemi and so on. The regulations on education field done since Tanzimat Dönemi have been analysed, and according to this ?the boarding schools established between 1908-1913 and their features, the educational yearbooks of this period and the researcs on this field have been used to describe the features of the boarding schools in this period. As the result of the research, we have seen that the spread of the boarding schools established as a part of Ottoman Empire around the country was not in an order; the foreign boarding schools, which had been widespread with Tanzimat and especially with 1869 Maarif-i Umumiye Nizamnamesi, were established far from the centre and; missionary activities and political propagandas were effective in the establihment of these schools.Key Words: Boarding Schools, Foreign Schools and Minority Schools, The Ottoman Empire.
