Abstract (EN)
When the Turkish education is evaluated in the historical process, it is seen that the establishment of the Republic has accelerated the studies of the mother tongue education and carried out the studies which will carry the quality of revolution in this area. Above all, it can be said that the religion-centered educational policy of the Ottoman period, with the establishment of the Republic, left its place to a national and secular education policy. In the Republican period, educational meetings were held for this purpose (Delegation of İlmiye, Education Conference, Education Congress, etc.), Tevhid-i Tedrisat Law was enacted and the curriculums were rearranged. In this period, attempts have been made to prepare the textbooks which are the basic tools in the acquisition of the goals determined by Turkish Teaching Programs in accordance with the program. The continuous development of strategies and methods in education has also changed the qualities of materials. This study was carried out by examining the texts in the First Grade Turkish Lesson Curriculum prepared in order to be read during the academic year of 2016-2017 and First Grade Reading Book For Girls and Boys prepared for the acquisition of reading skills in 1928 in terms of themes and types . For this reason, the study was a qualitative study and content analysis was done using the document method. The texts in both textbooks are rich in thematic and highly educational texts. Girls and Boys have come to the conclusion that the texts in the Book of Kıraat do not carry the characteristics of some of them, some of which reflect the characteristics of the Turkish texts. Key Words: First grade, primary school, Reading Book For Girls and Boys.
