Abstract (EN)

In this study, the concepts of genius and madness were analyzed from the theoretical point of view, and they were examined in terms of Turkish artists and their works of painting after 1950. Considering the historical period, this study primarily focused on the periods and groups that retained their importance in Turkish painting in addition to the artists taking part in them before and after 1950. Moreover, the study analyzed such effects as the psychological and mental states as well as the extraordinary lifestyles of the artists, their creative and different understanding of compositions in their works, facts and images about them, along with their emotions and thoughts. In this context, this study examined the artists who have left a mark on Turkish painting with their extraordinary aspects and works that stand out in the line of genius and madness such as Fikret Mualla, Burhan Uygur, Alattin Aksoy, Ergin İnan, Neşe Erdok, Komet (Gürkan Coşkun), Mehmet Uygun, Fatih Urunç and Mehmet Güleryüz, and their works.
