Sculpture art after 1960 and the new realism

Rodin, who brought a new approach to the concept of sculpture, took the sculpture away from it?s traditional borders, he moved the sculpture that is isolated from the base to another dimension. The traces of this awakening which came with Rodin had lead not only the modernism era but also modern art movements and it?s artists. After the awakening with Rodin, Duschamp?s ready mades has influenced the world of art deeply. With the ready mades he chose and serial production materials, he brought an utterly different explanation to the world of sculpture. It is an opposition to art, based upon human labour, esthetical concerns and handcraft. Duchamp?s, who aims the give importance to concept, this attitude would be a source of inspiration for art movements such as New Realism, Pop Art, Minimal Art etc.With the effects of the world wars on societies, artists has concerned about following independence, freedom and individuality. Artists who lived in a world order possessed by technology, had a chance to reach the large masses by the help of accelerated communication and also they emphasized the importance of being human. Artists who believed they no longer need the traditional lines of art, were no more sculptor nor an artist, artists; within an art order in which different branches disappeared, has presented their most individual work of arts behind the shapes, by transferring their ideas with their bodies or exhibiting an empty room.A community of artists, which came together to create the flow of New Realism which is located at an effective point of 1960 art movements, being parallel to the changing face of art, have claimed that the nature and the world we live in have already been a work of art and they aimed this reality to be perceived.In the light of these developments, the art has evolved to modern art that is attitudinazing, criticizing and integrating with daily realism and public.
