1973 elections in the Republic of People Party

Republican People' s Party was established on 9th September 1923. Governing for 27 years, RPP purpoted to be tending to be bureaucretic. The elites of the party were after a view of politics which had a wide gap between the public. İnönü, who has failed in the 14 May elections, had to hand over the responbility of ruling to the Democratic Party. The process after 1950, which was the time of multi party system, RPP under the leadership of İnönü went into a phase of evolotion of ideology. With İnönü's taking over the duty general secretar, the wind of change would increasingly gain momentum in the party.
