Abstract (EN)

Examining the posters used by political parties from 1980 to the present, what is the poster and what are the basic elements that make up the poster are discussed in detail. The aim of the course is to show how the perception of the society is affected by the posters, the meaning of visual and verbal elements on the poster, the effects on the voters, how the parties present themselves to the public and what is emphasized and whether the posters have an effect on the election. In this study, the election posters of the first three parties represented in parliament in the general elections from 1980 to the present were taken as examples. Party programs and corporate identity studies of political parties were examined before the study of verbal and visual elements and their messages on the poster. However, in this research, the contribution of posters to politics was discussed, the literature review was performed, party officials were interviewed and expert opinions were taken. The two main research questions were the starting point of this research: What was this banner designed for? When the verbal and visual elements of the election posters of the parties are examined, how does it contribute to the elections and what results? When the political parties' election posters are examined, it is examined whether it expresses an understanding shaped around cultural infrastructure, Turkish mythology, ideological and Islamic traditions. Keywords: Political Party, Election Poster, Political Communication, Symbol, Emblem, Representation
