Abstract (EN)

Urban, for the art of painting, throughout the time of gothic and Renaissance era, during baroque, romanticism and later impressionism, expressionism and other movements, became the main theme of painting, the image. Especially today, the urban environment is the object of painting. After the Renaissance era, due to the freedom of the subject, urban has been proposed as a theme. Because in the Renaissance times but especially before, religion was the most important theme, reflected in religious artifacts.Rebuilding, renovating cities is a fact nowadays. According to Modernism, the city is the cradle of the civilization, the most perfect product of the human mind. In this context, the perspective of the modernists has been adjusted and became functional. Exhibition halls, galleries, museums have been established and improved and serve the public. During the industrial revolution, the artists looked at urban in a different way than before, adopting the new image of urban. The artists deal in their works with issues such as the daily lives of the people, the working class, the social structures.Urban?s cultural, economic, social dynamics create a new concept, a new image. Therefore, cultural transformations, the city's political and economic changes, technological developments, all these, as it becomes clear, infuence the identity of urban. Urban, at times, lives on a certain stage, recognized by its signs and symbols, becomes part of political discourses. Urban as perceived by post-modernism is pluralistic, multi-voiced, anarchic, uncontrollable, chaotic, after being defined as it appears, art escaped from galleries and museums to reach urban life as an alternative. In this context, urban has become the nurture of production.A problem has been raised regarding urban, as a result of the observations and experience that are reflected in practice. Studies have shown that due to a combination of cultures, diversities, and vivid contrasts, new life models stagger the people, with major issues as alteration, estrangement, isolation. The people just as the buildings of the city are unharmonious and different. But due to wrong cultural policies the people start fast to become monotype and both urban and the people start to be broken down, affecting each other. Application studies have shown the dimension of social transformation. The form, the appearance, the behavior of urban, have been manifested with several indicators. The painting technique use paint and various materials. In this work, the intention is not to display urban as it shows but the psychological effect that has on the people.
