1999-2006the evaluation of curriculum qualities at Faculty of Education Art and Craft Training Department of Gazi University

The aim of this research is to determine the thoughts about the quality of the Art and Craft Teaching curriculum that was applied between 1999 and 2006 at the Faculty of Education Department of Gazi University. To determine the quality of the curriculum, it was focused on the points: physical capacity, technology usage, the content and hours of the subjects. A tool was also developed and used to determine the thoughts of students and academics about the curriculum. In this way, the opinions of academics, graduates and students were taken and by the help of these opinions, it is tried to determine what level the ?reconstructed curriculum? that applied at Art and Craft Teaching has reached its aims. To the research, total 59 people that consist of academics, graduates and students of Art and Craft Teaching Department of Faculty of Education, Gazi University were joined. In this study, the questionnaire form was applied. Qualitative data were digitized and problems and sub problems were analyzed by the determination of frequency and percentages. Content analyses were done on the questionnaires that were applied to seniors, graduates and academics. The results of this study indicate that; 1) Physical capacity and technology usage at Art and Craft Training Department of Gazi University are insufficient. 2) The hours of subjects are inefficient because the department is based on practice-base content. 3) For the efficiency of the curriculum, it is not considered the conditions of Turkey. (the crowded number of classes, physical capacity problem and lack of usage of technological devices in education.) 4) In the curriculum, time to time, it is faced to face with problems in the content of lessons. At the end of the study, the advice statements that were given by the researcher took place.
