Abstract (EN)

In this study, the relationship between resilience and marital adjustment of parents who have 2-6 years old children and differentiation levels of psychological resilience and marital adjustment levels according to demographic form were examined, the results obtained and discussion of the results were realized in accordance with literature. The sample of study includes the parents with children aged 2-6 years in Turkey and research sample consists of the parents with children aged 2-6 years who go to preschools in Tekirdağ. Because the research aims to show relationships, the study conducted in three preschools reflecting different districts of society and the sample was chosen on a volunteer basis between the parents who have children in those schools. In this context, the scales were handed out to the parents with children aged 2-6 years who study at Süleymanpaşa Preschools, Neşe Erberk Private Preschools and Aka College, 208 people responded. In order to determine the demographical characteristics of the parents with children aged 2-6, "Personal Information Form", "psychological Resilience Scale For Adults" and "Marital Adjustment Scale" were applied as data collection tools. On the purpose of gathering information about the people attending to the study, "Personal Information Form" was prepared. In order for analysing the data Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 20.0 programme was used. As the data obtained from sample group ranges normally, "T-test" and "One Way Anova" test from Parametric Tests were applied. Correlation analysis was used for testing the hypothesis of study. As a result of study, It was defined that marital adjustment differentiated according to age, educational status and income status however psychological resilience levels didn't differentiated in regard to demographical factors. It was determined that there is positive weak correlation between psychological resilience and marital adjustment. It shows that there is a positive weak correlation between marital adjustment of social resources and structural style, future perception, marital adjustment, self- perception, social competence which are the sub-dimensions of psychological resilience.
