Examination of the angry levels of athletes playing professionally football in the 2nd league and the 3rd league

The aim of this study; The aim of this study is to determine the anger levels of the football players playing in the TFF second league and TFF third league organized by the Turkish Football Federation in the 2020-2021 football seasons. In the study, 397 professional football players who were determined by the completely random method took place. Personal information form and trait anger and anger expression style scale were used as data collection tools. The prepared scale form was applied face to face. While the SPSS 25.0 package program was used in the analysis of the collected data, the Microsoft Excel 2016 package program for Windows was used in drawing the graphics. It was observed that the data were normally distributed in the Shapiro Wilks test results. Percentage distribution and frequency values of the data were determined by descriptive statistics. Independent sample T test and one-way analysis of variance were used to compare variables and anger scores, and significant groups were determined by Tukey HSD. In the test results, significant differences were found in the trait anger, anger-out and anger control sub-dimensions in terms of age, in the trait anger sub-dimension in terms of educational status, and in the trait anger, anger-in, anger-out and anger control sub-dimensions in terms of years of professional play (p<0.05). In the test results, no significant difference was found in the sub-dimension levels in terms of league level, status of being in the national team, marital status and monthly income status (p>0.05). As a result, it can be said that the characteristics of the football players mentioned in our study have significant effects on their feelings of anger, and each variable is effective in different dimensions of anger when we look at the way they experience anger. It is thought that these characteristics of football players are the main factors that should be taken into account in order to control the feeling of anger.
