Abstract (EN)

The books where the decisions and records given in the Ottoman courts were kept are called the sharia registers. These books, referred to as the kadi register or the kadi divan, were written by the kadi or his deputy and contained various documents. The sharia registers are primary sources consisting of documents such as huccet, ma'ruz, mürasele, berat, ferman recorded by the kadis and provide important information about the period by addressing the economic, social and legal aspects. The registers are documents that reflect not only the decisions regarding the trials but also the social structure and economic activities of the period. For this reason, they play an important role in shedding light on events with written records during a period when there were limited resources. The sharia courts served as a bridge for people to seek their rights. The Konya Sharia Register No. 20, consisting of 337 pages and 792 documents, covers the years 1085-1086 (1674-1675). The content of these documents includes various documents regarding the social, economic, legal and administrative life of the period. The documents included in the registry include governor, viceroy, guardian appointments, extortion, assault, alcohol, theft, fraud, discovery of death, divorce, acquittal, muhalal, property sales, debt, tax and foundation cases. These studies not only reflect the legal processes of that period but also provide a detailed perspective on the daily life of the society, trade, religious issues and administration. In this context, it is aimed to obtain in-depth information about the social structure, economic situation, legal processes and administrative administration of the period by evaluating and transcribing the Konya Sharia Registry No. 20 in detail. Such records contribute to the development of a comprehensive understanding of Ottoman society. Key Words: Konya, Shari Register, Kadi, Social, Economic, Legal, Political
