Özet (EN)

On July 20, 2017, a devastating earthquake with a magnitude of 6.6 occurred off the Bodrum peninsula. The scope of this study, aimed to determine the geodetic earthquake recurrence periods by calculating the current strain fields of the Gulf of Gökova after the Bodrum-Kos earthquake. For this purpose, a GNSS network consisting of 28 sites was established. In this network, the first campaign of GNSS observations was carried out in February 2022, followed by the second campaign in December 2022. In addition, GNSS data obtained in previous studies were obtained at the sites in the network. The pre-earthquake and post-earthquake velocity field of the study area was calculated by evaluating the data obtained and the GNSS data obtained as a result of the 2 campaigns. According to the strain analysis results calculated by post earthquake velocity field, the maximum strains in Gökova Gulf were calculated to be 230 ns/year. In addition, it has been calculated that earthquakes with a magnitude of 6 and above occur approximately every 50-70 years, while earthquakes with a magnitüde of 7 and above occur approximately every 550-750 years in the Gulf of Gökova. Within the scope of this study, energy accumulation between magnitude (Mw) 6.3-6.9 was calculated for the Ören segment and its vicinity on the Gökova Fault Zone.
