Abstract (EN)
In the first part of the thesis, the processing of Copper, Bronze and Iron which came to life with the discovery of metals and also gave their names to the ages, their development within the the first civilisations and the effects on the art of sculpture have been evaluated. In the second part, the developments within art and society caused by the technological and scientific improvements following the Industrial Revolution, as well as the new industrial states of materials, the effects, movements and artists emerged after the introduction of ready-made and found metal objects into sculpture have been examined. In the last part of thesis, the application of the concept of color onto metal sculptures and its effects, artists and their Works are discussed especially under the light of the developments that took place in the 20th century in sculpture.
