A new stage model proposed: aiming to meet modern staging needs under the perspective of design dinamics forming the post 20.cc. theatre

Theater architecture has undergone several changing processes since the very beginning of staging. These processes have improved under the influence of play script until modernist theater. That the architecture itself was unique in creating atmosphere before scene elements is the main reason for the influence of play script on the form of architecture. The advent of scenic tools alongside modern construction capabilities for creating atmosphere and space has changed the approach to staging and, as a result of increase in scenic, elements let to the introduction of directing to provide visual wholeness.The power in the hands of director has not only increase diversity in staging but also reported new pursuits in theater architecture. Modernism had an impact on life in general while changing the perception of stage in productions that used to heavily based upon human. Pursuits of directors who did not want to keep audience from play, who looked for ways to approach audience to actors have found response in theater architecture leading to challenge boundaries of architecture. The tendency towards abandon of the ?old? for sake of the ?new? has convert the theater space to laboratory for experimental productions, while post-modern era has raised the idea of combining ?now? and ?then? in the same melting pot leading to installation of technological facilities on to old theater building.In the current era that highlights visuality, main stream focuses on a visual language created through the use of technology. This has ascribed the identity of designer onto the director. Thus, today?s context harbours old and new in many different senses while the challenge leads to new theater spaces to help today?s directors. This dissertation proposes elliptic stage for a variety of approaches of today with a perspective toward future.
