Özet (EN)
Since the first years of human existence, the human brain and human behavior have been a subject of curiosity and research. People have sometimes tried to satisfy this curiosity by asking and sometimes by researching. Therefore, people have been in search of meaning to some mental states that happen to them as a result of good or bad experiences and experiences. In the late 19th century, this search became more meaningful and concrete with the developing technology and the concept of trauma emerged. Later, various researchers proved that trauma is a condition that can occur in all human relationships. Undoubtedly, the most common of these human relationships is family relationships. The father, who is sometimes seen as an ancestor and sometimes as an authoritarian representation in the eyes of society, is one of the elements at the center of this relationship. The individual may not always have a positive relationship with his/her father. Sometimes this relationship can be shaky and traumatic. The study aims to determine the representations of the concept of trauma in cinema and its effects on the father-son relationship. The study consists of two parts: theory and practice. The theory part is divided into two parts. In the first part, a literature review will be made about trauma and in the second part about cinema. In the first part; the history of the concept of trauma, the elements that can cause trauma, the effects of trauma, types of trauma, childhood traumas and traumas caused by mother and father were researched and the data obtained were added to the study. In the second part, a literature review on the elements of cinema, the arrival of cinema in Turkey and the first filmmakers, the periods of Turkish cinema and the films about the traumatic father-son relationship in these periods was conducted and added to the study. In the second part of the study, the elements of cinema were evaluated and readings were made by focusing on trauma through films selected as a sample. As a result of the study, it has been observed that the father-son relationship has appeared as a theme since the early years of cinema, and especially with the development of cinema, traumatic events and traces have entered into this relationship.
