Abstract (EN)

Upon its arrival, the importance of periodic success caused by internal or external effects has been noteworthy in Turkish cinema. In addition, audience interest has played an important role for Turkish cinema to remain operable. Box office success has become more important in the 2000s. Some comedians, who were actively working outside the field of cinema, have produced films that were highly successful at the box office. Yilmaz Erdogan, Cem Yilmaz and Ata Demirer helped produce films such as Vizontele (2001), G.O.R.A. (2004) and Eyyvah Eyvah (2010) which were among the most watched films of the years they were released in. The preservation of their pre-cinema era narrative preferences can be seen in the aforementioned films. This study aims to track those preferences down within the narrative structures of the films. After examining the dominant structural habits which became synonymous with the comedians, the narrative structures of the films have been analysed in order to link the pre-cinema activities of the comedians with their work in cinema.
