The examination of the boxer's bone structure and chronoligal age congruity in 2006 Turkey kids championships

This study has been conducted by evaluating 15 kids among 731 kids between 11-12 and 13-15 age group from 64 cities and in 36 siklets who took part in Turkey individual kids box championships on 21st and 25 th. June 2006.This study has been carried out by taking hand-wrist graf of those 15 kids and comparing with their counterparts according to their physical features, such as: superiority upon their rivals, becomes hairy, skin changes and bone development.The development of 22 hand-wrist bone of those 15 boxers which is inside the ossification center has been examined according to Greulich-Pyle sceleton development atlas.The aim of this study is to examine the bone structure and its congruity with the calender age which is obtained from the boxers'graf. The calendar age has been calculated by looking at each boxer's ID card.According to Greulich-Pyle sceleton development atlas each boxer's bone age has been defined.After that the congruity of chronological age and bone structure has been examined and discussed.As a result ,those examined boxers who have a difference between their chronological age and bone structure have determined and that those who have much chronological age than bone age are more advantegoeus than those who have less during the competitions besides , it is thought that those boxers who have much bone age may injure their opponent with their punches even lead to dramatic results like death during competition .And it is thought that each of the boxers should be identified according to their bone age through hand-wrist radiography to reduce the amount of injuries and even death risk. Moreover checking the congruity of chronological age and bone age ,for every boxers before every competition will make a good progress in international platform for Turkish Sport .
