Abstract (EN)

Aim: To investigate the studies examining the academic success of students by comparing classical methods and the usage of smart boards in verbal and mathematical lessons between 2008-2021 and to obtain a general view on the results. Materials and Methods: This study was carried out as an archieve scanning and the studies made in Turkey where the academic achievement status at the end of the Iearning process realized with the use of classical boards and smart boards were examined and the datas obtained from open access sources were combined with the meta-analysis method in the analysis of the datas, The "group difference method",which is one of the group comparison meta-analysis methods, was used. Results: In this study,42 effect sizes of 42 studies which formed a sample of 2753 people, were calculated. According to results of the research, In favor of high academic success of students using interactive whiteboards, in accordance with random effects model (d=0,94; [0,69; 1,16]) statistically a high effect size was designated. This result is a high level result according to Thalheimer and Cook's (2002) cIassification. Conclusion: The results of this meta-analysis study show that the use of interactive white boards is a significant and effective factor in the academic success of students.Compared to the lessons taught using cIassical boards, it was determined that the lessons taught using smart board were more effective in using and developing the right and left brain functions, and as a result , the verbal and mathematical academic success rate of the students was higher.
