Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this study is to investigate, the assessment and evaluation approach that has reflected in the 6th, 7th and 8th grades Science Education textbooks prepared in the light of the 2013 and 2018 Science Education teaching programs. In this direction, it is aimed to determine the frequency of use of assessment and evaluation techniques in the textbooks in both programs independently and to compare the reflections of the cognizance in the 2013 and 2018 Science Education Teaching Programs on textbooks. In this study, books have written per a commission determined by the Ministry of Education and training were investigated in the 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 academic year in accord with the Science Education Teaching Programs of 2013 and 2018. The qualitative research method has used in the study along with document review, which is one of the quantitative research techniques. The units in the textbooks have examined as detailed. Obtained findings are to be developed and categorized according to the characteristics it has and classified by taking into account the table by Nartgün (2009). According to the findings of the research, i) demonstration, portfolio, V-diagram, peer assessment wasn't included in textbooks at all, ii) whereas some other techniques performance task, Venn diagram, structured grid, word association, diagnostic tree, concept map, fishbone diagram, problem-solving has found sporadically, iii) concluded that traditional measurement techniques have more space. It observed that the assessment and evaluation approaches in the 2013 and 2018 Science Education Teaching Programs have not reflected in the textbooks to a great space, and the intellection in the 2018 Science Education Teaching Program is reflected in the textbooks more in part than the intellection in the 2013 Science Education Teaching Program. Some suggestions had provided to the researchers, textbook writers, and educators in light of the results obtained through the study.
