Özet (EN)
Besides tuberculosis is an important infectious disease reported by World Health Organization yearly and preserving its importance from past to present, developement of primary antituberculosis drugs resistance in recent years prevents the disease from being taken under control. Tuberculosis caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex (MTBC). TB is considered the most onerous of infectious disease according to recent reports from the World Health Organization. Tuberculosis is one of the top 10 causes of death worldwide and the leading cause of death from a single infectious agent (ranking above HIV/AIDS). About a quarter of the world's population is infected with M. tuberculosis and thus at risk of developing TB disease. Screening of antitüberculosis drug resistance is important that; identification of resistant strains in the population, selection of appropriate treatment protocols and contribute to tuberculosis control programs. The aim of this retrospective study is to determine primer antituberculosis resistance of isolated MTBC strains in Diyarbakır city, Dicle University Medical Microbiology Department, Mycobacteriology Laboratory between 2014-2019 years. Drug sensitivity tests were evaluated by BACTEC MGIT 960 (BD Diagnostic, USA) system. Drug sensitivity tests was performed for a total of 717 samples. which 640 (89%) isolated from respiratory system specimens and 77 (11%) isolated from non-respiratory system specimens. Of the 717 samples, 525 (73,2%) were susceptible to all of four antimycobacterial agents while 192 (26,8%) were found resistant to one or more drugs. The rates of resistance for streptomycin, isoniazid, rifampicin and ethambutol were found 5,6%, 6,3%, 1%, 2% and the rate of multidrug resistance was found 4%. Findings in this study indicated that the rates of mono and multidrug resistant were significantly lower than the rates previously reported from our region and similar to the average country base resistance reported by the Ministry of Health. Monitoring of drug sensitivity test at regional level would aid to the success of the tuberculosis surveillance program in Turkey.
