Congenital coronary artery anomalies are present at birth, but relatively few are symptomatic. Most anomalies are encountered as incidental findings during coronary angiography or at autopsy (1). The incidence of CAAs varies, ranging from 0.2% to 8.4%. (2, 3). About 20% of coronary artery anomalies produce life threatening symptoms including arrhythmias, syncope, myocardial infarction, or sudden death while 80% are benign (4, 5). Coronary artery anomalies are the second most common cause of sudden cardiac death (SCD) in young athletes (6). İn this study we retrospectively watched 1617 coronary angiographic digital images of patients 18 years and older from the archives that occured between 2015 October and 2016 October. These anomalies are classified to the scheme that depends to the Angelini and Khatami' s classification of systematic anatomical model and calculated percent of coronary anomalies. The incidence of CAA was 4.51% and 2.35% (n: 73); when myocardial bridges are included and excluded. The subgroup incidences of anomalies by frequency were: myocardial bridge 2.16% (n: 35), absent LMCA (seperate ostia of LAD and Cx) 0.8% (n: 13), coronary fistules 0.61% (n: 10), Cx originating from right coronary sinus 0.18% (n: 3), RCA originating from left coronary sinus 0.12% (n: 2), OM originating form LAD 0.12% (n: 2), woven coronary artery 0.12% (n: 2), LMCA oroginating from right coronary sinus 0.06% (n: 1), RCA originating from non coronary sinus 0.06% (n: 1), PDA originating from right coronary sinus 0.06% (n: 1), single coronary artery 0.06% (n: 1), dual LAD 0.06% (n: 1), crossing coronary 0.06% (n: 1). 72.6% of patients were male (n: 53, average age: 60.37 years), 27.39% were female (n: 20, average age: 56.67 years). 23.28% of the patients (n: 17) were younger than 50 years, 76.71% were over 50 years (n = 56). General age average was 59.35 years. As CAG is an easily accessible and commonly used technique worldwide, the probability of identifying CAAs may increase; but there is no consensus yet on the management of coronary artery anomalies.
