Abstract (EN)

As a result of a crime suspicion, suspicious facts of an action that applied to the hospital or was considered a crime by the law during medical evaluation are considered forensic facts. In our study, forensic reporting due to injury, forensic characteristics of cases such as age, and gender, and determining the type, distribution, and rate of event, as well as the discovery of the forensic fact profile; to draw attention to violence and to address further measures to reduce deaths and injuries caused by malicious injuries. In this study, the facts were retrospectively reviewed by the Forensic Medical Department of Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine from January 2017 to December 2021. In our study, a total of 6313 cases were evaluated. It was determined that 6002 (95.1%) were Turkish nationality, 311 (4.9%) were foreign nationals, 4187 (66.3%) were male, and 2126 (33.7%) were women, most often in the age group 21-30. 5020 of the cases (79.6%) came after blunt traumatic injury, 35 of these cases (0.7%) were mentioned of blunt trauma (stone, stick, etc.) and 781 (12.4%) injury with cutter piercing tool, 510 (8.1%) with firearms and 2 (0.03%) were reported after-burn. 5020 of the cases (79.6%) came after blunt traumatic injury, 35 (0.7%) of these cases were mentioned in any object (stone, stick, etc.) of blunt trauma, 781 (12.4%) injury with cutting instrument, 510 (8.1%) with firearms (8.1%) and 2 (0.03%) were reported to have been resorted after-burn. A precise report was reported to 5721 (90.6%) and the precise report was reported in 174 (3%) of cases reported that there was no traumatic lesion in 174 (9.4%) of cases reported, and 592 (9.4%) were reported to be preliminary reports. It was determined that injuries caused vital danger in 323 (5.1%) of cases, not to be mild enough to be resolved by a simple medical intervention in 1338 (21.2%), caused a bone fracture in 576 (9.1%), causing 27 percent (0.4%) and 40% (0.7%) caused constant trace, while 40% (0.7%) caused one of their senses or organs to constantly weaken or lose function. It is worrying that people are exposed to violence and injuries in the time zone they are most active, and this is a waste of workforce and time, even causing permanent diseases such as dysfunction and disability in later periods. Violence should be perceived as a "social problem" and under the leadership of experts, firstly anti-violence programs should be made against risky groups. Errors in the arrangement of forensic reports that play an important role in the judgment of injury perpetrators and the punishment they will receive are seen to negatively affect this process and cause the process to prolong. So it is thought that doctors who often encounter forensic cases give forensic report training and forensics training will have a positive effect on forensics and joint medical studies with departments.
