Analysis of Netflix serial logos published in 2019 in terms of graphic design

A logo is a visual symbol that represents a product, institution or service, which is formed by the combination of one or more typographic characters to promote a product, institution or service, where visual elements can also be used. The logo is prepared in accordance with the character of the brand or institution, following the design concerns and following the graphic design principles. The important features of the design process are that it has a simple, understandable, catchy and memorable form. Logo designs appear in many areas in our daily lives. One of the important works of mass media, especially television, which is only one of them, is commercial activities. As communication opportunities continued to evolve, commerce through advertisements continued to advance. On the television, serials have an important place as the most interesting broadcasts. While newspapers, magazines and television are traditional media tools, new media tools are places that both function as magazines, television and newspapers and provide the environments where these tools are watched. The number of people who watch TV series and movies on the internet instead of traditional television is increasing day by day. The series logos examined in the study include the Netflix series logos, which is an internet platform. In this research, the logos of the TV series published only on Netflix in 2019 were examined in terms of graphic design elements and principles. The aim of the research is to evaluate the existence of series logos on digital platforms with the formation of new media tools in terms of graphic design. During this research, by scanning the sources such as published books, theses, and articles, first of all, what the logo is, for what purpose, where it is used, which graphic design elements and principles it contains are explained. Evaluation of Netflix series logos in terms of graphic design is considered to be important because it is an example to the researches within the scope of the subject and contributes to the field.
