The effects of Kahramanmaraş (2023) EXPO Organization on the city are evaluated by the tourism shareholder

Mega activities are of vital importance in that they bring participants and potential customers together as well as introducing the historical and cultural values of the host countries and cities. EXPOs, which have great impact on the introduction and development of the host city, are one of the biggest organizations after Olympic Games and World Cup Finals. Kahramanmaraş, the host city of Gardening EXPO 2023, aims to support the innovativeness in the fields of gardening and agriculture, to increase the life quality, and to help solve the problems on these issues. Botanic EXPO has been preferred as the organization because this theme pledges a considerably fruitful results for Kahramanmaraş in cultural, environmental, regional, politic and socio-economic terms. This study aims the possible effects of EXPO 2023 Kahramanmaraş to be determined by the partners in tourism sector. The population and the samples are those carrying on a business in tourism sector. Throughout the study, 392 sector workers took a poll, an exploratory factor analysis (EFA) was implemented on the obtained data and finally an eight dimension structure was attained. After the EFA, an independent sample t-test and variance analysis was conducted in an effort to determine if there were any differences between the possible effects of EXPO 2023 on Kahramanmaraş and the demographic features of the participants. In the end, it was shown that tourism sector workers had a positive attitude towards the effects of EXPO 2023 Kahramanmaraş, and that the views varied according to the demographic and introductive variants. The result this study reached is that Expo 2023 is of vital importance for Kahramanmaraş aiming to become a world city. Keywords: Mega Events, Fair Tourism, Horticultural Expo, Kahramanmaraş
