Abstract (EN)

This study identifies Israeli propaganda discourse by analyzing the meanings contained in the posts shared in Arabic by Israeli army spokesman Avichai Adraee on the social media site X, and based on the connotations inherent in the topics and photographs he covered in his posts during the attack on the Gaza Strip in 2023. The study is within the scope of descriptive research, and the researcher based the discourse analysis approach using agenda setting theory, implicit meaning theory, and image analysis tools. This study is concluded that Israel's propaganda discourse focuses on legitimizing the targeting of Palestinian civilians and revealing concerns for their security, as well as holding HAMAS solely responsible for the massacre and destruction in Gaza and deliberately stripping HAMAS of its Islamic character. In addition to all these, it has been concluded that the achievements of the resistance are ignored in exchange for exaggerating the achievements of the Israeli army and reinforcing the image of an invincible army in Israeli propaganda, and statistics are largely used in Israeli propaganda discourse.
