Transcription and Evaluation of Trabzon Serif Record Book No. 2068/254 The Sharia records are of great importance in Ottoman history as they are first hand sources. The information contained in these documents, which we also call the Kadi records, is the closest witness to the period in which the event occurred. The fact that the records kept are in the presence of witnesses in court further increases their reliability. In this study, it is aimed to contribute to the studies of Ottoman History in general and Trabzon History in particular by transcribing and evaluating the Trabzon Sharia Record numbered 2068/254. The transcribed register covers the years 1318-1319 AH and 1900-1901 AD. The thesis titled "Transcription and Evaluation of Trabzon Sharia Register No. 2068/254" consists of an introduction and two sections in total. The introduction section addresses the general characteristics of the Sharia register. In order to better understand the subject, the first section examines the general structure of Ottoman law, Sharia courts, court personnel, the definition, importance, emergence of Sharia registers, and the types of documents in the registers. In the second section, the records in the register are classified and evaluated according to their subjects, and the results are shown in tables.
