Abstract (EN)

This study focuses on the changes in types of romance in the twenty-first century through the films question love by putting the concept of romance in the sci-fi cinema in the center. While the evolution of romantic love from the twelfth century to the twentieth century, when it was used most closely in the term known today, has not led to great differences, the transformation in the light of transcendental technological development has been tremendous enough to require attention to love in the twenty-first century. The fact that personal computers become the technological tools that everyone can easily reach and the widespread usage of the Internet has brought the question of where to evolve the future of the unique concepts that attributed to humans. The widespread usage of the Internet has led to the development of the concept of online relationships in the cyber world. This new form of love combined with the advances in artificial intelligence and robotics has been treated in various ways in the sci-fi cinema that makes assumptions about love stories. As a result of the presence of cyborg, android, humanoid and robots addressed as Others developing emotions, it is started to be questioned what people will change into in the face of the reality when Others will develop emotions. The theme of the evolution of love and humans that the post-2010 sci-fi cinema predominantly focuses has been shaped in various assumptions and it is found out that love has been lived in three different ways in the films chosen. The first one is the relationship with artificial intelligence that does not have a body in the physical world. The second one is robotic artificial intelligence relationship that has the ability to develop human emotions and manipulate "real" humans. The third one is a form of relationship that people living under an ideological system with a dystopic structure expected to exist in the future and who are prohibited to have emotions will try to keep the love known alive at any cost. The outcome of the study is that in order to live and continue to love in the world of advanced technology humans should evolve in the face of the structures that can develop emotions and should be ready to live out of the usual romantic love concept that has been accepted for thousands of years. Key words: Romantic love, Science fiction cinema, Artificial Intelligence, Love styles
