Abstract (EN)

The Mühimme Defteri are sets of written documents sorted by date and containing all fermans and berats issue till 1649 by the Divan-i Humayun and later documents dealing exclusively with state affairs. Name of the Mühimme Defteri, or Important Imperial Dispatches, relates to all important decisions in domestic and foreign policy, war affairs, social and financial spheres that were discussed in the Divan-i Humayun. The Mühimme Defteri, which have a cultural and historical value due range of documents covering approximately 350 years, beginning from the middle of the 16th century till early 20th century, with some time cleavages, occupy an important place within corpus of the Ottoman Archive. Among their main topics are state affairs, political, financial, cultural, social and war issues and related high-level bureaucracy decisions. All decisions were documented and were archived in the files according to an issue date. In this study we have provided transcription, summaries and evaluations of edicts between the numbers of 603-784 that can be found in pages from 282 to 350 belonging to the 23th file of the Mühimme Defteri representing a part of these broad archives.
