Özet (EN)

The Ottomans Empire carried out its first modern census in 1828-29.The censuses before this date were carried out under the names of Tahrir and Avarız records and were carried out for taxation purposes. The data obtained from the 1828-29 census included the socio-economic, administrative, and demographic structure of the period. These books provide valuable information about the areas they are registered in. Population records are important sources that keep light on a certain period of history. In this study, the transcription of the Eğin (Kemaliye) population register Numbered 2610 provided information on the population information, demographic structure, occupational groups, social status, physical characteristics, and population movements of the M.1834 Eğin district. This work will provide a significant contribution to the literature in this context, which will clarify many topics such as the anthropological structure of Eğin (Kemaliye), production/working habits, child numbers, social status, distribution of professions. The data obtained in transcription are created with tables and presented to researchers who want to work in this field. Keywords: Ottoman Empire, Sanjak of Erzincan, Eğin (Kemaliye) District, Demographic Structure, Population Books
