Population book of egin (Kemaliye) registered with number 2611: Transcription and evaluation of muslim population (H-1256/M-1841)

The recording system of the Ottoman Empire started with Tahrir Records and continued with Avariz Records and Temettuat Records. As a result of this, Population Books were revealed with the censuses conducted in the 19th century. In modern terms, the first census was conducted in 1831 in the Ottoman Empire. Before this date, it is observed that a few censuses were carried out for taxation in various periods. Therefore, these initial censuses do not contain detailed information about the general structure of the region where the census was conducted. However, the books obtained from the census conducted after 1831 contained very important information about the socio-economic, administrative and demographic structure of the period. This study was obtained as a result of in-depth analysis "The Population Book of Eğin (Kemaliye) District Dated 1841 and Numbered 2611." Accordingly, names, nicknames, occupations, illnesses, titles indicating their social status, age, military status and other characteristics the Muslim male population are discussed. In this context, the data obtained from after the transcript of the book were given in tables and presented to the service of the reader to contribute to the integrity of the subject.
