Transcription and evaluation of the registry of Tarsus sharia number 348 (H. 1315-1316 / M. 1897-1898. 1898-1899)

With the title of "348 Transcription and Evaluation of the Registry of Tarsus Sharia" the importance and nature of the sharia registers were handled in chronologi-cal order and their shire records were explained. Sharia Registry has an important place in Ottoman Empire legal structure. Sharia Registry also provides us much knowledge in many areas of the society such as religion, culture and economy. In this study, information about Tarsus region was given. The legal structure of the Ottoman Empire and related topics were explained. Explanations about Sharia registers were given. The summary table of the Tarsus Sharia Register No. 348 was given. Tarsus Sharia Register No. 348 was handled and transcribed. In the transcription, the page numbers of the registries, provision numbers and the dates of the registers were gi-ven. Regarding the information provided by the transcribed registries, the evaluation of the registries in the evaluation section is indicated by tables. In addition, social life, economic life and place names were mentioned depending on the registers.
