Abstract (EN)

Within the scope of our study, the 4+4+4 education system, which started to be implemented as of the 2012-2013 academic year, has been discussed. With the new system, the changes made in the Turkish education system were discussed and these changes were examined in detail. On the other hand, the changes made for the 5th grade students of secondary education, which is the second level of education, are also discussed in relation to the new system. In this context, the difficulties faced by 5th grade students and teachers in the new system were determined. The study is divided into five parts. In the first part, the aim, importance and assumptions of the study are stated. In the second part, the 4+4+4 education system, which is the basis of the study, its positive and negative aspects, opinions about the system, changes made within the scope of the system and detailed explanations about the system are stated. The study group consists of students and teachers who study and work in Antalya and want to answer the interview questions voluntarily. For this reason, 10 students and 10 teachers studying at Mehmet Kemal Dedeman Primary School participated in the study. Pre-prepared questions were sent to the teachers and students within the scope of the study and answers were received. Analyzes were made in line with the responses received. As a result of the analyzes made, branch teachers argued that classroom teachers should attend the 5th grade lessons and that in-service training should be given.
