Abstract (EN)

The general aim of the research is to determine the changes happen to the children at the age 4 ? 5 in early childhood period coming from families of a low socio-economical level by the mediation of early intervention program prepared to support cognitive, psychomotor and social development and to support children in order to get ready for preschool class.In the study, in order to determine the effects of the prepared early intervention program (ÇASEMP) on the children (48 ? 60 month old) coming from a low socio-economical level, the design method with a control group of pre-test and final test. In the research, Raven Progressive Matrix Test, Denver II Developmental Screaning Test, Observation Form of Developmental Evaluation for the Children of 48 ? 60 Month and finally Survey of Children and Family Recognition which was developed by the researcher in order to determine the demographic characteristics of the children forming the group have been used as the means of data collection. There have been 14 children in the experimental group of the study who were the students in ?Prof. Dr. Suzan Erbas Multi-Purpose Classroom of Early Childhood Education? during autumn term of 2010 ? 2011 academic year and 14 children in the control group who were the students in Early Childhood Education Center of Kepez Municipality. Several Models of Early Childhood Education and Early Intervention Programs applied in Turkey and in the World have been examined and Multi-Purpose Classroom of Early Intervention Program (ÇASEMP) has been prepared set out of Developmental Characteristics for the Children of 48 ? 60 Months and aims and acquisitions given for the Children of 36 ? 72 Months in the Book of the Program of Preschool Education published by MEB (Ministry of Education) (2006). The prepared program has been applied for 4 half day a week, during 13 weeks, between 08:30 to 12:30. Program includes 260 activites; 35 of them is Turkish Activities, 33 of them is Free Tıme Activities, 31 of them is Art Activities, 29 of them is Science and Math Activities, 29 of them is Familiy Involvement Studies, 28 of them is Music Activities, 27 of them is Preparation for Reading and Writing, 21 of them is Game and Movement Activities, 20 of them is Drama Activities and 7 of them is about Field Trip. In order to determine the effectiveness of the prepared program, the grade points of pre-tests and final tests of the children in both the experimental group and the control group have been measured by statistical tests. In the study, it has been found that there have been dramatically significant differences between sub-dimension results of the grade points of Fine-Motor Skills (p<,05) and the grade points of Gross-Motor Skills (p<,05) of Denver II Developmental Screening Test? and the grade points of Social Development (p<,05), Language Development (p<,05), Cognitive Development (p<,001) and Self-Care Skills (p<,001) of Observation Form of Developmental Evaluation regarding all children in the experimental group who have been receiving an education via Early Intervention Program of Multi-Purpose Classroom. It is recommended to improve the Prepared Multi-Purpose Classroom of Early Intervention Program and to use it as an alternative model in education of the children coming from a low socio-economical level.
