Examination of the relationship between the anxiety of aged 4-6 and the anxiety of their mothers psychological resilience and cognitive flexibility

In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between the anxiety of pre-school children aged 4-6 and their mothers levels of anxiety, psychological resilience and cognitive flexibility. Relational screenig model was used in the research. The sample of the study consisted of the mothers of 438 students who contiune their education kindergartens selected from 55 ş-independent kindergartens in 25 education regions in Şehitkamil and Şahinbey, the districts of Gazianteğ. In the research, Personal Information Form to measure the demographic characteristics of mothers. Revised Preschool Anxıety Scale (RPAS) to measure the anxıety of children. Beck Anxıety Scale (BAS) to measure the anxıety of mothers. Psychological Resilience Scale (PRS) to measure levels of mothers. Cognitive Flexibility Inventory (CFI) was used to measure cognitive flexibility levels. In the analysis of the data obtained from the research t-test, Many Whitney U Test, simple linear corelatioın and stepwise regression analysis were performed for unrelated samples. According to the results of the statistical analysis, a positive, moderate and significant relationship was found between the anxiety levels of the children and the anxiety level of the mothers. There is a positive, moderate and significant relationship between psychological resilience and cognitive flexibility of mothers. Finally, according to the regression analysis, it was concluded that the child's anxiety level was predicted by the anxiety and cognitive flexibility of the mothers. According to the results of the Sobel test, mothers anxiety and cognitive flexibility are significant mediating variables in predicting children's anxiety.
