Abstract (EN)
The records of Islamic law are defined as the notebooks, in which the sentences made by the muslim judges at court and those judgements and the corrrespondence made by the government were issued out. They can be nominated as ?the notebook of muslim judge, the script of court or the records of case determination?. The muslim judges were regarded as the official representatives of the state, where they were in charge. Until the period,namely between 1839 and 1876, during which the so called administrative reforms in the Ottoman state were carried out, they additionally undertook certain municipal assignments and the notary services. Within their responsibilities any event handled legally was included. Besides, they were assigned of recording into this notebook the judgements they made at the court and the legal cases which occured in the regions for which they were responsible.The records of Islamic law were composed of the witness,the final decision of the court and several issues including the punishments. They should be also considered as the assurance, which put the rights under warranty and thus it has a great deal of importance from the point of local history?s view. By means of these records, it is more likely to work out many problems in relation to the history of the city. Within this respect, the records of Islamic law indicate the military conditions,the political situation, the economic strength, the social,cultural and legal position of the country during the time interval under inspection. That is, they are identified as the historical issues providing us with the achievement of induction in terms of the total concept arising from its integrating partsWithin this research, ?the notebook of the records of Islamic law Number 426 in Manisa? has been examined. Actually,it belongs to the village ?Kırkağaç?. Since no other records referring to Kırkağaç could be found, these records have been mentioned within the records of Manisa. The research is composed of three chapters: The introduction part of the research gives information about the town ?Kırkağaç? . In the first section of the research the Ottoman law, the state of Islamic judge,the records of Islamic law and the examined notebook have been brought into light. On the other hand, in the second section the transcription of the examined records have been described. In the following section,namely in the third chapter the summaries of the documents and the assesment of the records have been presented. Moreover, an index has been attached to the end of the these in order to make use of it easily.
