Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the self-regulation skills of 5-6-year-old preschool children and their parents' attitudes. In addition, in line with this purpose, children's self-regulation skills and parental attitudes are determined by various personal variables (age, gender, number of siblings, the order of birth, duration of preschool education, parental gender, parental age, mother's education status, father's educational status, and socioeconomic level). In the research, the relational screening model, which is a quantitative design, was used to reveal the current situation. The sample of the study consists of 188 children in the 5-6 age group who attend pre-school education in the Yıldırım district of Bursa province, and their teachers and parents. In the research, the relational survey model, which is a quantitative design, was preferred in order to reveal the current situation. As a result of the study, it was concluded that there is a negative and low-level relationship between the overprotective parental attitude of the parents and the control skill levels of the children. A significant correlation has been reached between parents' democratic, authoritarian, overprotective, permissive attitudes, and children's organizing skills. There was no significant relationship between the parents' democratic, authoritarian, permissive attitudes, and their children's control skills. The research draws attention to some practical suggestions for self-regulation and parental attitudes of preschool children and ends with suggesting that many factors related to the subject should be examined longitudinally in order to be understood in depth. Keywords: Preschool education, child, self-regulation skills, parental attitude, teacher views
