Abstract (EN)
This research was conducted to reveal whether the attachment and anxiety states of 5-6 year old children differ significantly according to the demographic characteristics of parents and children and to reveal the relationship between attachment and anxiety. The relational screening model, one of the quantitative research methods, was used in the research. The study group of the research consisted of 43 children aged 5-6 who were selected by criterion sampling method and were attending pre-school education in two public schools in Sarıyer district of Istanbul. Data were collected using the Demographic Information Form, TOBAH attachment scale and the Anxiety Scale for Preschool Children Parent Form. Independent group t test, ANOVA and Pearson Spearman Correlation analysis were used to analyze the data. According to the findings of the research, children's attachment score averages do not show a significant difference according to the children's gender, age, number of siblings, mother's age, profession, education level, father's age, profession, education level and parents' living situation. Again, while children's anxiety levels showed significant differences according to their gender and age, no significant difference was found according to the number of siblings, parents' age, profession, education level and cohabitation status. Additionally, no significant relationship was found between children's attachment levels and anxiety levels.
