Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the effects of digital and traditional games used in the teaching of 5th grade Biodiversity on students' academic achievement and attitudes towards science. In addition, written interviews were conducted with the students about the applications. In the research, pretest-posttest comparative group quasi-experimental design was used. The study was carried out in two secondary schools in İkizce district of Ordu province in the 2021-2022 academic year. The sample of the study consisted of a total of 21 students who were applied 11 traditional games and 10 digital games. As a result of the study, when the effects of traditional and digital games on student success were examined, it was observed that the effect of traditional games on students' academic success was higher. In addition, it was observed that both applications did not make a significant difference in the attitudes of the students towards the lesson.
