Abstract (EN)

Sharia Registers are one of the archival sources that provide important information about the Ottoman period of Turkish history. In addition, they are first-hand sources with rich information about the city they belong to. Ayıntâb Sharia Register number 50, which is the subject of the study, H. 1110-1111/M covers the years 1698-1700 and consists of 359 pages and 714 documents. In the first part of the thesis, the importance of the Court Records, the types of documents they contain and the people who took part in the court were mentioned. In the second part, the transcription of the examined register and the summaries of the documents are included. In the third part, that is, in the last part, important information about the political, economic, administrative and cultural life of the city of Ayıntâb in the years 1698-1700 is presented in the light of the data obtained from the registry. This study has been prepared to reveal the history of Ayıntâb, one of the typical Anatolian cities of the Ottoman Empire, and to assist in city history research.
