Abstract (EN)
Vitamin D is a vitamin known to play important roles in bone metabolism and neuromuscular functions.Vitamin D deficiency is common in postmenopausal women and is associated with less benefit from sunlight, low vitamin D intake, staying at home, staying in winter, increased age, decreased absorption, and a deeper vitamin D synthesis capacity. Especially at advanced age, vitamin D deficiency may increase muscle weakness, muscle aches and consequent disbalance resulting in decreased risk of fracture. In this study, we evaluated bilateral qadriceps muscle strength in postmenopausal women with an isokinetic test (bilateral Quadriceps 60 ° -90 ° isokinetic) that allowed quantitative and objective measurement of musculoskeletal performance. We evaluated the correlation of muscle power with measurements of PTH, 25 (OH) D vitamins, Ca, creatinine (Cr), alanine transaminase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), total creatine kinase (total CK). D vitamini levels and lower extremity muscle strength were not statistically significant. In the postmenopausal group of patients over 55 years of age, very few studies are available in the related literature. In this regard, there is a need for work to be done for a clear vision consortium.
