Özet (EN)

This work sheds light on the period of İskenderun between 1901 and 1903 which was one of the most important cities of Ottoman Empire. It was tried to show the social, cultural and economical situation of İskenderun at the begining of twentieth century by evaluating the court records. In addition to the economic conditions and industry branches of the local community, clothing , material, prices of the animals and real estates, there are civil trials and their solutins such as credit and debit, divorce, subsistence, inheritance and theft affairs in these record. Minorities generally have the jobs such as primarily trade, medicine and architecture having high value from point of view of economics. On the other hand, Muslim community generally do agriculture. Some of Cretan immigrants are settled on locatins of İskenderun.
